DEPARTURE OF THE MANAGING DIRECTOR/CEO
February 17, 2010
The Chairman of MIKOH Corporation Limited, Mr Peter Tyree, announced today that the Board had taken the decision not to renew the contract of the Managing Director and CEO, Mr Matthew Blomfield. Mr Blomfield was appointed as Chief Executive Officer on 17 November 2004 and as Managing Director on 1 December 2004, and his contract was renewed on 26 September 2007.
Mr Blomfield will not work out the remainder of his contract, but will be paid accordingly. In accordance with MIKOH’s constitution, upon his departure from the CEO position Mr Blomfield automatically ceases to be a director of the Company.
Having taken this decision, the Board moved to reorient the Company as a security solutions company, and to focus on the commercialisation of its technology, specifically in the following areas:
a) AVI/EVR (Automatic Vehicle Identification/Electronic Vehicle Registration) particularly in the ASEAN countries, using Smart&SecureTM RFID tags,
b) SecureContainerTM with real time detection and notification of cases in transit, for asset protection and secure tracking of valuable goods and documents, incorporating intellectual property licensed from the US National Security Agency (NSA),
c) Bio-Authentication on networks including the Internet and networks using Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Additionally the company will continue its other product lines of SubScribeTM security seals and SecurePrintTM digital printing with secure authentication.
The Board thanks Mr Blomfield for his work over the past five years in transitioning the company from an IP developer to an emergent player in the security arena globally.
