AVI is the identification and management of vehicles into a controlled, restricted, or monitored area. AVI falls into three categories:

• Electronic Vehicle Registration (EVR);
• Vehicle Access Control; and
• Tolling and Parking.

Since our foundation, we have focused on Asset Tracking of all types and have an exemplary track record of implementing Automatic Vehicle Identification all around the globe. Critical to all implementations is the need to track, not the RFID tag but the vehicle itself. Tags can be stolen, applied to vehicles that are not registered (e.g. unsafe or foreign vehicles) or to vehicles that should pay higher registration fees. These acts neutralize the benefits of the carefully planned system.

Fraud and theft deterrent must be a fundamental part of any Automatic Vehicle Identification solution and must be built-in from the ground up. This cannot be fixed as an after-thought or an “add-on”. MIKOH’s patented, tamper-evident RFID solutions provide a fundamental resolution. Simply put, if someone attempts to move a MIKOH based tag from one vehicle to another, the tag is permanently & irrevocably altered. The tag becomes completely disabled and unreadable.
