MIKOH

“OUR MIKOH is the most important story I’ve ever told. It’s the story of the diverse, unstoppable women who are the epitome of what I believe in. These images reflect the strength of women from a diversity of backgrounds, ethnicities, and ages. The project is a statement of beauty being ageless and multifaceted. It is a story of women who literally do their own stunts, who thrive in business, inspire their mothers, and shine in motherhood.

Each woman photographed is a friend or a friend of a friend and, in a way, a sister. I know, through my relationships with them, their families, and our community, that together these women transcend generations, ethnicities, and physical appearance highlighting what is truly important: our collective story.

I create so I can give. The project is a lens with which to view women in all their diverse glory, from mothers to daughters, lovers and fighters, entrepreneurs, artists, and everything in between. It is a visual commentary that true strength exists in the space created by our differences. I’m seeking to give women the same sense of confidence, fierceness, fire, and determination that these women and girls radiate.
