A Quick and Brief History of Swimwear: 1930s
The 1930’s opened up the doors for modern swimwear.
Many styles are even still popular today with their high waisted bottoms and more flattering fit. Hugging the contours and curves of women’s bodies, 1930’s swimwear also introduced midriffs and even cutout sections. Mikoh Swimwear’s Lucas one piece pays homage to all our 1930’s divas. Hollywood did not miss a beat either as swimwear and alluring bikini clad stars came to the silver screen.
A Quick and Brief History of Swimwear: 1920s
They called it the Roaring Twenties.
It was a time of liberation and expression and that didn’t just stop at music and art. Women could be free and more comfortable in athletic tank suits, which revealed the body more clearly than ever before. Think an extremely old fashioned booty short with a long tank top. Sound comfortable? Although a step up from swimming in heavy wool skirts (seriously?) and tank suits, the 1920’s was the first major fashion forward movement in swimwear.
The Ryder bottom from Mikoh Swimwear is the modern booty short! Liberate to celebrate the 1920’s in a modern and sexy way.
