WE ARE LOVING PRINTS AND PATTERNS THIS SEASON AND WE ARE EXCITED TO INTRODUCE PRINTS TO THE 2011 COLLECTION, TEPRE PACIFICUM. WHERE DO THE PRINTS COME FROM THOUGH? WHERE DOES THE INSPIRATION COME FROM? THE OCEAN OF COURSE. “TEPRE PACIFICUM” MEANS “PEACEFUL SEA” IN LATIN.
ONE OF OUR FAVORITE PRINTS IS THE TIDE PRINT. HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THE SUBTLE LINES LEFT OVER AS THE TIDE RISES AND FALLS? DURING THE 2011 PHOTOSHOOT IN THE BAHAMAS, WE CAPTURED NATURE’S ARTWORK IN THE SAND. WE REWORKED IT AND CAME UP WITH THE BEAUTIFUL AND SUBTLE TIDE PRINT.

ABOUT THE 2011 COLLECTION | TEPRE PACIFICUM
Conceived in the sand and born at sea, MIKOH’s 2011 Collection is you at your most unhurried, un-tethered and unconcerned. Titled, “Tepre Pacificum,” or peaceful sea, the collection pulls you back to the living waters from whence it took its shape.
Each piece is an extension of the sea itself, inspired by the listless pulsing of the tide; the kelp that dances lazily in a current before breaking its bonds to an unknown end; the ocean that enwraps Earth herself, like a vast blue shawl upon the planet.
Familiar this season will be MIKOH’s seamless, hardware-free swimsuits that wear and travel as effortlessly as the naked form. New to the collection is a menagerie of [breezy, weightless, feathery] cover-ups for 2011, which complement the swimwear first introduced in 2010, and now translate its easy joie de vivre far beyond the sand. All of the pieces, both swim and cover-ups, mix and recombine in harmonious concert for a deep well of fashionable self-expression. We also unveil an eclectic set of print designs that expand on last season’s solid-color suits.
The collection’s color palette has its origin in the natural beauty of the vibrant sea: the citron of a playful anemone; the teal-turquoise of calm waters; the taupe of sandstone worn by a lapping tide.
Whether a jet-setter or a gypsy – whether wandering in fact or in spirit – you will find within MIKOH’s new collection the perfect companion for your next splendid excursion.
